I have yet to speak directly to Janet, however ran into Chip “Art” Reeseside, Neavitt representative at the post office the other day. He told me the preliminary meeting was an introduction of sorts, who will be involved on the county end, the creation of an online service for newsletters and each village now has an email account. The following was sent to me from Art that will be included in the Neavitt Newsletter coming soon.

Village Center Board – What it means to us!
In December, 2005 the Talbot County Council passed a resolution to create a Village Center Board consisting of 22 members, one each to represent the 22 unincorporated villages in the County. Simply stated, the VCB will represent a conduit for the flow of information to (and from) county residents who are not directly represented by the 4 town governments (Easton, Oxford, St. Michaels and Trappe). Appointments were made in July, by the County Council, from applications that had been submitted by interested individuals.

The VCB will meet monthly and receive input from county agencies such as Planning & Zoning, Emergency Management, Public Works, Environmental Health, etc. Residents can visit www.talbotcounty.us/lists and subscribe to a message broadcast server that will provide timely notice of projects, zoning requests and any other information that pertains to your requested areas.

This undertaking is still in the infancy stage. Please be patient.

The Bozman Village Neighbors endorsed the application of Janet Hammed, who volunteered to represent Bozman. She was nominated by the group (which is open to all residents of Bozman). The Bozman Village Neighbors will be scheduling a meeting shortly to have Janet present to us the latest – we will also be sure to post it here! Stay tuned.
